There is not only the sea!
Well of Santa Cristina and Nuraghe Losa
Perhaps many of you do not know it or you have never realized it, but Sardinia is not just summer, sea, beach, cocktail bars and fun until late at night.
Sardinia, strange to say for many, offers an enormous amount of archaeological sites that can be visited all year round.
Today we tell you about the visit to the Well of Santa Cristina and the Nuraghe Losa without going too far into the history as it is not within our competence.
The Well of Santa Cristina is easily accessible with the SS 131 and there is an exit dedicated to the height of Paulilatino.
I had been coming to Sardinia for ove 30 years from the mainland along that road every summer several times and never once I had stopped!
One day with a bit of a gloomy sky, in winter, we decided to go and visit it and we must admit that we were amazed.
You can easily park outside and after paying the ticket, and having a chat with those at the box office, you enter this huge open space that looks more like a courtyard than a house with the rooms overlooking it, with the only difference that here there are houses overlooking the courtyard.
Later we discovered that they are private houses and they are opened once a year for the patronal feast.
Then you follow a marked path and you arrive at the well that you do not expect: a kind of triangular hole that from a distance seems to lead nowhere and instead wonder of wonders, there are steps that lead you under to the well fed by a source of crystal clear water.
Returning back to the central part, you have the opportunity to visit two small nuraghi, but at the same time very interesting as they can be visited inside.
Leaving the archaeological center, lacking some time before lunch, we decided to visit the Nuraghe Losa which is located a few kilometers away from the Abbasanta exit, always on ss 131.
The Nuraghe Losa is huge, well-kept and in a few words also beautiful inside.
Upon entering, you realize with a little imagination what life must have been like in one of those centers with well-defined spaces both inside and out.
Among other things, one continually wonders how many years have come to conceive and build something so imposing and architecturally so valid.
This was in short one of our visits around Terralba, we will soon tell you all the other visits that there are so many sites and places to visit and tell about!
